e-learning is simply employee training and development done online. Its done online so
you can make the material more interesting, your employees can
have 24/7 access to the material, and you can monitor their progress.
For KX, the sole purpose of e-learning is to use technology to
help employees learn and companies prosper.
“The next big killer application
for the Internet
is going to be education.”

The following are what KX considers the ABC’s of e-learning:
- Authoring (or creating) the training, or adapting existing training, to meet your company’s needs. Unlike printed training materials, e-learning content can be changed,
updated, rearranged to make it more effective.
- Delivering the training to your employees by using electronic media – the internet, an intranet, CD-ROM, etc. If your employees have computers and
can open a browser, they can have access to your information
where and when they want it.
- Tracking of the learner’s progress, or interaction with the training. E-learning tools allow you to get
answers to such questions as ‘Did my employees read all the material?; Did he or she pass a quiz on the material?’.
e-Learning is less expensive
Companies that use e-learning find their training is less expensive than traditional paper-based or classroom training. There is less expense for
travel, new materials development, trainers, etc. Moreover, employees
learn better. The ‘e’ in e-learning is for electronic, but it also is for a number of other words.
E-learning is more efficient and effective; a good reason for this is that training is made much more engaging for the learners. In other words, there is more excitement in obtaining the knowledge they need to improve themselves.
Does your company need e-learning?
There are only a few questions you need to ask yourself to determine
if you can take advantage of learning.
| 1) |
Do I need to train my employees? |
|
| |
We think it is safe to say all employees need training. And they need it more
than ever. |
|
| 2) |
Do my employees need to keep learning? |
|
| |
Nowadays, employees (and their employers) need to keep up with new information,
new products and demands. Advantage goes to the knowledgeable
and best trained. |
|
| 3) |
Do I have enough employees to take advantage of e-learning? |
|
| |
KX’s new product, e-Learning in a Box, targets small businesses and business units from a few employees up to 100.
As the saying goes, ‘it never is too soon to get started.’ |

Technology and You
With KX products, neither you nor anyone in your company needs
to be an IT specialist to handle the ‘technical’ side of e-learning. If you can use MS Word®, you are ready to get started.
And your company doesn’t have to be in a ‘high-tech’ market. In some ways, Bob’s Plumbing Service, at three locations in two counties in rural New York State
can take advantage of e-learning as much as Joe’s Software Service, with employees in the U.S., India and Japan.
