e-Learning in a Box(tm) Installation Instructions Installation from a Download: 1. Make sure that all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are closed before you install the "e-Learning in a Box Authoring Client". If you use Word as your e-mail editor, you must also log off and exit from Outlook. 2. After download is complete, double-click on "e-Learning_in_a_Box.exe". You will be asked to select a location to extract the files to. This will create an "eliab_demo" folder on your computer containing the installation files. 3. Find the "eliab_demo" folder and double-click on "setup.exe" to launch the installation. Choose your language and a wizard will lead you through the rest of the installation. 4. Read the License Agreement and click "Yes" if you agree. After clicking yes you will be asked to insert your company name. If you click "No" the installation will not continue. 5. At the "Choose Destination Location" screen you will have the option of changing where the program is installed on your computer. By default, it installs to your computer's "C" drive, in the folder "Program Files", (C:\Program Files\KnowledgeXtensions\e-Learning in a Box). 6. At the "Select Program Folder" screen, click "Next" to use the default program folder. You may also create a new folder or select one from the "Existing Folders" list. The installation will then proceed. 7. Click "Finish" to complete the installation. A window will open with three icons: "e-Learning in a Box Tutorial", "Launch Document" and "Learning Portal". IMPORTANT: You must wait until the green installation background screen disappears before you start the client. 8. To review the tutorial, click on the "e-Learning in a Box Tutorial" link. 9. Click on "Launch Document", located under the Window's "Start Menu", (Start > Program Files > KnowledgeXtensions > e-Learning in a Box), to begin authoring with e-Learning in a Box. If you choose a different Program Folder and/or specify a non-default Destination Location, the "Launch Document" icon will be found in that location. 10. Clicking on "Learning Portal" will allow you to log in as the student or the administrator. 11. You must first log in as an Administrator to set up your Custom ID. To do this type in "Admin" as both the username and password. 12. Within the Admin site create your custom "User" in the "Manage Users" section. 13.
